A Really Great Dog

A Poets Corner Posted on September 22, 2016 by Patricia WalterSeptember 22, 2016

a-really-great-dog-2002 A Really Great Dog We each have a breed that we hold dear but it actually comes down to the dog we're near. Short hair or long skinny or round it's the heart of the dog that we truly found. some jump and bark others sit and stare no matter their actions we always care. Makes no difference their family tree a really great dog is all you see. Poetry & Art by Patricia Walter 2002 ©

A Really Great Dog

We each have a breed
that we hold dear
but it actually comes down
to the dog we’re near.
Short hair or long
skinny or round
it’s the heart of the dog
that we truly found.
some jump and bark
others sit and stare
no matter their actions
we always care.
Makes no difference
their family tree
a really great dog
is all you see.

chip-2003 Chip My name is Chip cause I'm so chipper dumped at the pound when no on was around. I'm a senior half blind and scratching infection in my ears but I shed no tears. I'm friendly and happy love people and dogs just want a nice home where I won't be alone. Thank goodness for rescue I'll have a family real soon with people who care and love to share. Annie

A Poets Corner Posted on September 22, 2016 by Patricia WalterSeptember 22, 2016

Annie Left alone at the shelter she shivered and shook didn't care about eating or how she would look. Thrust into darkness eyes crusted shut a matted ball of fur probably just a mutt. She had no love was lonely and cold wasn't there someone that could be told? Along came a family who wanted to share finally found a new home with love and care. A True Friendship

A Poets Corner Posted on September 22, 2016 by Patricia WalterSeptember 22, 2016

A True Friendship A crumb from the donut a piece of toast that's all it takes no need to boast. A scratch on the ear a pat on the head a quiet "good doggies" no more said. A walk in the park a ride in the car no need to go fast no need to go far. Always there happy and content a tried and true friendship no need to invent. Poetry & Art by Patricia Walter 2002 ©

The Computer

A Poets Corner Posted on September 22, 2016 by Patricia WalterSeptember 22, 2016

The Computer They said it would be easy learning the PC. But everything I do never wants to be. I press the keys look at the screen boy those messages can really be mean. I'm looking for help searching the books all I get are computer mean looks. Moving the mouse clicking away hoping to find what I need to say. Something I did something I hit made it work I don't have to quit. Whoever said it's really easy makes my stomach really queasy. Poetry & Photo by Patricia Walter 2002 ©

But everything I do
never wants to be.

Moving the mouse

Something I did
something I hit
made it work
I don’t have to quit.
Whoever said
it’s really easy
makes my stomach
really queasy.

Wonderful Gifts

A Poets Corner Posted on September 22, 2016 by Patricia WalterDecember 15, 2019

wonderful Gifts Poem by Patricia Walter

Wonderful Gifts

The beauty of youth, a gift to all
it’s energy and curiosity arrive when we’re small.
The knowledge of age, earned along the way
by what we do, what we say.
Patience and understanding, quiet insight
brings calm and love that feels just right.
Youth and age never do meet
they meld one to the other, a wonderful feat.
Life never allows choice of youth or age
a dilemma for some, even outrage.
The value of time, the knowledge of joys
are wonderful gifts, not youthful toys.

Have A Nice Day

A Poets Corner Posted on September 21, 2016 by Patricia WalterSeptember 21, 2016

Have A Nice Day Have a nice day that's all I need say. May the sun shine bright you know things are right. May the breeze blow carrying spring to your soul. May the flowers bloom sweet fragrance in your room. May rainbows appear after storms are near. Have a nice day it's the only way. Poetry & Art by Patricia Walter 2001 ©

Have a nice day
that’s all I need say.
May the sun shine bright
you know things are right.
May the breeze blow
carrying spring to your soul.
May the flowers bloom

May rainbows appear
after storms are near.
Have a nice day
it’s the only way.

We Have Freedom

A Poets Corner Posted on September 21, 2016 by Patricia WalterSeptember 21, 2016

We Have Freedom We have freedom to fly in our heart in our mind. We have ability to choose with each new day each new find. We have power to love people near people not our kind. We have choice to create life full of love or life just a grind. Poetry & Photo by Patricia Walter 2002 ©

We Have Freedom

We have freedom to fly
in our heart
in our mind.
We have ability to choose
with each new day
each new find.
We have power to love
people near
people not our kind.
We have choice to create
life full of love or
life just a grind.

Spring

A Poets Corner Posted on September 21, 2016 by Patricia WalterSeptember 23, 2016

Spring Tired winter eyes look out and see a tinge of green - trees still lean. A patch of growth in a sunny spot clutched together - almost a knot. Buds on trees - tight with strain waiting for sun, a little rain. Daffodils blooming - yellow bright bulbs sprouting - wanting more light. Nature renewing - a gift to all just a late winter wake up call. Poetry & Art by Patricia Walter ©

Spring

Tired winter eyes look out and see
a tinge of green – trees still lean.
A patch of growth in a sunny spot
clutched together – almost a knot.
Buds on trees – tight with strain
waiting for sun, a little rain.
Daffodils blooming – yellow bright
bulbs sprouting – wanting more light.
Nature renewing – a gift to all
just a late winter wake up call.
