Thank You 1999

A Poets Corner Posted on September 14, 2016 by Patricia WalterSeptember 14, 2016

thank-you-1999

Thank You

Thank You!
The words are spoken, the words are heard.
A soft, heartfelt embrace from soul to soul.
The gratitude is quietly understood.
A gentle gift shared by two kind hearts.

A Lifeline of Hope

A Lifeline of Hope Poem 1999

A Lifeline of Hope

Sometimes our lives seem to hang by a thread
frayed and ready to break.
Our troubles are weights, almost too great to bear
they pull us from family and friends.

But a lifeline of hope will support our fears
faith will remove our doubts.
We begin to connect and find the solutions
the thread becomes a highway to life.

Hope entwines with support and love
as problems are slowly embraced.
Insight and courage become our friends
they walk at our side as life moves on.

The Treasure Inside

A Poets Corner Posted on September 14, 2016 by Patricia WalterJanuary 5, 2019

The Treasure Inside 1
The Treasure Inside

Why are we afraid to find out who we really are?
We can’t wait to open a present –
strip away the ribbons, rip the pretty paper,
cut the tape, and open the box.
Then search through the packing to find the gift.

Is there not a treasure inside all of us?
Are we afraid to find the warm,
loving, wonderful person deep within?
Maybe we fear not finding
a nice caring heart and soul?

We can’t be thankful for
what hasn’t been discovered.
Life’s search is not complete
until we have found the treasure inside.

The Secrete So Simple

The Secret so Simple

Do any of us really know were we are going in life?
It’s the most important trip we will ever take
yet most don’t have a clue which way to turn.

If there ever was a road map, it is truly in the heart.
How many are able to see the way clearly?
Perhaps it’s not for the eyes to find
the destination is felt by heart and soul.

How lucky are those who have found the way
and the few, who accidentally stumbled upon the path.
The rest are groping, feeling in the dark

Life is Bountiful

A Poets Corner Posted on September 14, 2016 by Patricia WalterDecember 9, 2019
Life is Bountiful 2
Life is Bountiful
Open your arms  Open you mind  Open you heart
Put aside – fear of not deserving
Put aside – fear of jealousy
Put aside – fear of fear
Abundance is given to all who ask
Abundance is promised to all who accept
Abundance is God’s gift to all who lovingly share

Love Comes From Within

Love Comes From Within 3

Love Comes from Within

It hurts to not love yourself
it hurts to not like yourself
it hurts to not understand yourself.
The love, the kindness
the understanding
only come from within.
It comes from the heart
the soul, the Spirit
all living within yourself.

Sunday Morning

A Poets Corner Posted on September 13, 2016 by Patricia WalterDecember 9, 2019

sunday-morning

Sunday Morning

Sunday morning, the snow is falling
time to stay snuggled in bed.
Pull up the covers
drift back to sleep.
The dog wants out, the cat’s purring
time to care for the family.
Turn up the heat
fill the kettle with water.
Sip tea from a pretty glass mug
watch snow flakes cover the yard.
Sunday morning becomes a holiday!
A quiet celebration of life.

Run With The Wind

A Poets Corner Posted on September 13, 2016 by Patricia WalterJanuary 5, 2019

Run With The Wind 4Run With The Wind

Run with the wind-
dare to catch your dreams.
Life is exciting, life is challenging.
Run with your head up
your heart filled with faith
and the roadblocks will fall.
Dream the impossible
do the impossible!
Run with the wind,
live your dreams.

Be At Peace With Yourself

Be at peace with yourself
be at peace with the world.
Let your anger, hurt and problems of the day
go down with the sun each night.
Let joy, happiness and hope
rise in your heart with the sun each morning.
Be at peace with yourself
be at peace in your world.

My Friend From Long Ago

My Friend From Long Ago

He sits so quietly, never moving an inch
wondering why we don’t play anymore.
Being a wife with children on my own
leaves so little time to visit my friend.
Once in awhile I take him down
give him a hug and tell him my woes.
He listens intently with fuzzy, worn ears
watches with round button eyes,
tries to hug with matted old paws.
But time is short, there are errands to do
so Teddy goes back on the shelf.
He sits so quietly, he waits so patiently
my friend from long ago.

Be Happy, Not Perfect

Be Happy, Not Perfect 5

Be Happy, Not Perfect

There is no such things as perfect.
Where did the word come from?
The perfect husband, the perfect job
the perfect house, the perfect marriage.

We are all human, living in a human world.
Most are nice, sincere, loving, even kind.
But perfect causes such unhappiness.

Perfect is unreal, untouchable.
Accept good, well done and wonderful.
Do your best, be your best.
There is no such things as perfect.
Be happy, not perfect.
