Hush of the Rain

I am gently wakened by the hush of the rain
the whispers from God.
The gray morning goes unnoticed
quiet sounds touch my soul.
Nothing harsh to the ears
the lightning long tamed.
I am awakened, surrounded
by a gentleness known to few.
