Thankful Poem by Patricia Walter

Thankful

I am thankful for the many
blessings in my life.
Health, talent and wonderful friends.
A Spirit that surrounds me,
protects me, shows me the way.
I am truly thankful for the
wonderful world I live in
and the multitude of blessings
showered upon me.

The Real Secret

The Real Secret

The pain of loneliness, hurt and fear.
Feeling disconnected from the world.
All emotions we wish we never had
But most of us, at sometime in our lives, end up in such a state.
We are not always sure how we got there
we don’t know how long we are going to stay
and most of us don’t know where the next stop is going to be.
The worst part of living in a depressed state
is the feeling that it is unique to yourself.
The human condition seems to allow us to hurtle ourselves
off a … Read the rest

In the Garden

In The Garden

In the garden I hear the birds,
their sweet and lilting songs.
In the garden I see the trees,
limbs reaching to a clear blue sky.
In the garden I feel a Spirit
filling my heart with hope and joy.
In the garden I know a peace
quieting my worry removing all fear.
The garden touches the senses
thrills the heart surrounds the soul
gives love and hope.

A Lifeline of Hope

A Lifeline of Hope Poem 1999

A Lifeline of Hope

Sometimes our lives seem to hang by a thread
frayed and ready to break.
Our troubles are weights, almost too great to bear
they pull us from family and friends.

But a lifeline of hope will support our fears
faith will remove our doubts.
We begin to connect and find the solutions
the thread becomes a highway to life.

Hope entwines with support and love
as problems are slowly embraced.
Insight and courage become our friends
they walk at our side as life moves on.

Life is Bountiful

A Poets Corner Posted on September 14, 2016 by Patricia WalterDecember 9, 2019
Life is Bountiful 1
Life is Bountiful
Open your arms  Open you mind  Open you heart
Put aside – fear of not deserving
Put aside – fear of jealousy
Put aside – fear of fear
Abundance is given to all who ask
Abundance is promised to all who accept
Abundance is God’s gift to all who lovingly share

Be At Peace With Yourself

Be At Peace With Yourself

Be at peace with yourself
be at peace with the world.
Let your anger, hurt and problems of the day
go down with the sun each night.
Let joy, happiness and hope
rise in your heart with the sun each morning.
Be at peace with yourself
be at peace in your world.

To Do or To Be

A Poets Corner Posted on September 12, 2016 by Patricia WalterDecember 15, 2019

To Do or To Be 2To Do or To Be

To be is often crowed out by to do.
To do the dishes, to do the washing, to do the lawn.
To do is so loud, so active, so high energy,
that to be is often forgotten.

Life becomes meaningless acts of to do without to be.
To be quiet, to be with self,
to be with Spirit, to be with God.

To be gives great meaning to life.
To be is the connection with a greater Spirit.
To be gives hope, serenity and joy.

Sometimes We Feel Alone

Sometimes We Feel Alone 3

Sometimes We Feel Alone

Sometimes we feel alone in the world
losing a loved one, enduring a hardship,
experiencing an illness in the family.
Roadblocks in our normally smooth lives.
But God and Nature surround us
easing our burdens and healing our hearts.
Time and patience become our friends.
They hold our hands
and quietly begin to fill our hearts
with love and joy once again.

Solitude

A Poets Corner Posted on September 11, 2016 by Patricia WalterDecember 9, 2019

Solitude 4

Solitude

Solitude is not a sad state of mind
but a glorious gift from God.
Not lonely or detached
but connected and joyful.
A time to reflect, a visit with self
A time to listen, a time with God
advice from a warm, loving Friend.
A time to give Thanks for glorious gifts.
Yourself, your Spirit, unique in the world
will celebrate with joy each day.
Solitude is surely not lonely or sad
but a wonderful state of mind.

The Pines at Night 5

The Pines at Night

The pines at night stand bold and firm, strong in the mist of moonlight
Nature’s tribute to God and gift to man
A forever reminder of God’s promise for growth and renewal
An Eternal symbol of comfort and love
