I’ll Finally Be There

A Poets Corner Posted on December 15, 2019 by Patricia WalterDecember 15, 2019

I'll finnaly Be There poem by Patricia Walter

I’ll Finally Be There

I guess I look like a bag of bones
skin’s all wrinkled, my eyes just stare.
I sit so still, hardly moving at all
quiet as a mouse in my old wheelchair.
Inside my head memories come and go
I try to think does someone care?
I’m all alone, no family left
the end must be near, I better prepare.
There must be a place
where my friends have gone
I know it’s not here, but not sure where.
My eyes can’t see, but my heart will know
when I’m gone from the nursing home
I’ll … Read the rest

The Sunnyside of Darkness

A Poets Corner Posted on December 15, 2019 by Patricia WalterDecember 15, 2019

The sunnyside of Darkness poem by Patricia Walter
The Sunnyside of Darkness

There’s a sunnyside of darkness
beyond the black of night
a place to feel some comfort
where everything feels just right.
It’s not found by looking
or call on the phone
it comes from inner faith
knowing you’re not alone.

Life Changes

Life Changes Poem by Patricia Walter

Life Changes

Life changes
goes up and down
you never know
until it comes around.
We try to smile
thru good and bad
depend on friends
to keep away sad.
The journey is long
the road is rough
faith and hope
will be enough.
don’t waste a day
in anger or regret
keep joy in your hear
your needs will be met.

Do You Ever Feel Sad?

A Poets Corner Posted on December 15, 2019 by Patricia WalterDecember 15, 2019

Do You Ever Feel Sad Poem by Patricia Walter

Do You Ever Feel Sad?

Do you ever feel sad on a rainy day
the gray old clouds just feel that way.
The sun doesn’t shine, the sky is dark
the birds aren’t singing, the dogs don’t bark.
The flowers are droopy, look a little beat
not bright and shiny, nice and neat.
Your heart feels heavy, a little down
not much of a smile, almost a frown.
But there’s always hope, the sun will shine
the sky will clear, just a matter of time.
don’t feel blue as the drops fall down
they make a promise as they hit … Read the rest

Each Day is New

Each Day is New poem by Patricia Walter

Each Day is New

Black or white, grey or clear
There’s no denying there’s something to cheer.
Each day is new, a blank chapter in the book
opportunities will be – everywhere you look.

Dreams

A Poets Corner Posted on December 15, 2019 by Patricia WalterDecember 15, 2019

Dreams Poem by Patricia Walter

Dreams

Why do dreams seem so real?
You know they are by how they feel.
You think you’re there and done that too
but you’re only home, not at the zoo.
You feel confused, a little foggy
look down on the floor
and spot your doggie.
Now you know you’re really home
been in bed, never did roam.

The Christmas Lights

A Poets Corner Posted on December 9, 2019 by Patricia WalterMarch 20, 2021
The Christmas Lights Poem by Patricia Walter

The Christmas Lights

The Christmas lights lay dark and dormant

Through rain, fog and snow.

Waiting for that spark to brighten their lives

Become a brilliant light show.

They’ve been strung with care

Every bulb tested and tightened

Cords stretched thru the yard

The night soon to be brightened.

The sun sets, the yard lights up

A beautiful sight, a thrill to the eyes

Warms our hearts, brightens our spirits

The Christmas gift no longer a surprise

Divorce

A Poets Corner Posted on December 15, 2018 by Patricia WalterDecember 15, 2019

Divorce Poem by Patricia Walter
Divorce

Lonely, sad
life feels bad.
An empty house
without a spouse.
Want my life
to feel just right.
Be content
not to vent.
Have to heal
so I can feel.
To love again
before the end.
