The Christmas Lights
A Poets Corner

The Christmas Lights
The Christmas lights lay dark and dormant
Through rain, fog and snow.
Waiting for that spark to brighten their lives
Become a brilliant light show.
They’ve been strung with care
Every bulb tested and tightened
Cords stretched thru the yard
The night soon to be brightened.
The sun sets, the yard lights up
A beautiful sight, a thrill to the eyes
Warms our hearts, brightens our spirits
The Christmas gift no longer a surprise
