Who is Really the Smarter of the Two

Who is Really the Smarter of the Two?

Of the two of us who sit in the zoo
who is really the smarter of the two?
Is it you looking in or me looking out?
It’s certainly not me, surrounded by great walls
my spirit born free but body contained.
It’s certainly not me being awakened by alarms
so early in the morn before God’s great sunrise.
It’s certainly not me slowly roaming my cage
not worried about safety or survival.
It’s certainly not me, fed three meals a day
never wanting for shelter or care.

What Do The Animals Really Think - original poetry by Patricia Walter

What Do The Animals Really Think

What do the animals really think
of man and his modern ways?
Busy and tired, no time for joy
a grind from morning to night.
Has he forgotten the beauty and love
all creatures were given for free?
What do the animals really think
of life in the modern world?
Has man forgot the touch of the earth
its moist and fertile soil?
Where are the flowers, crops of wheat
man through the ages has grown?
No longer a care of everyday life
someone else will take care of the fields.
What do the … Read the rest

Please Be Kind To The Animals - original Poetry by Patricia Walter

Please Be Kind To The Animals

Please be kind to the animals
they really are God’s creatures, too.
Put here on earth to live free with nature
not intended to live in a cage.
The animals have no anger or hate
they have no fear of man.
The lessons learned are not from a book
but from a kind, caring Mother and Dad.
They learn respect and getting along
lessons they never forget.
Survival comes first, but they still feel joy
and pleasures from sweet Mother Earth.
Please be kind to the animals
give them room to roam
let them … Read the rest

Are The Animals Lost in a Mist

Are The Animals Lost in a Mist

Are the animals lost in a mist
a great mist of ignorance and power?
Has man’s great lust for money and wealth
blinded him from life on the earth?
Life given by god to be cherished and loved
the gift to grow and be free.
Many were here before man lost his way
sole tenants of Nature’s great earth.
Man builds and he plants, talking all in his reach
no concern for those in his way.
Not really caring who’s discarded or lost
it’s just man’s cold, hard way.

The Koala Bear

A Poets Corner Posted on September 23, 2015 by Patricia WalterDecember 12, 2019

The Koala Bear Some people think a Koala is a bear so here's a little story we'd like to share. born down under - that's Australia to us they climb large trees, don't make a fuss. Marsupial is what they are related to those kangaroos hopping around in the zoo. Koalas carry their babies in a pouch don't talk much or even say ouch! Have fuzzy ears and a cute black nose their color is grey and have five toes. They like to roam in the dark of night so fuzzy and cute - just seem right. Poetry & Art by Patricia Walter 2005 ©
