Thank you for sharing a hug and smile
makes a friendship so worthwhile.
Time to care, be a little bold
a friendship never can be too old.
Take some time to hold a hand
makes troubles melt like drifting sane.
Help each other, no regard to time
heart and souls begin to bind.
Thank you for caring, opening your eyes
true friends know they are both very wise.

Glad You’re Home

I am really glad you’re back in town
now I smile instead of frown.
I played and walked, snacked and napped
waited so patiently until you got back.
Now things are good, I can mail a note
tell you how I’ve been, send a joke.
We can share our stories about fun in the sun
glad you’re back home, not on the run.

Going Away

I’m so sad you’re going away.
I’ll look forward to hearing from you, another day.
I’ll keep your memories close at heart
that way it won’t seem like we’re really apart.
I’ll picture you playing on a sunny beach
you won’t be gone long, just out of reach.
When you come back we’ll write again
have lots of photos and stories to send.

Friends are a joy
put a smile on my face
share their warmth
with a big embrace.
Friends are dear
carried in my heart
never any distance

A Gift

A gift is always a surprise to receive.
Big or small
in a plain brown bag
or all wrapped up with a bow.
It may not be expensive
or extravagant at all
perhaps it might even be free.
A flower from the field
a warm smile or hug
an offer of a helping hand.
Always a surprise
the kind act of sharing
much more than the present inside.

What are friends for?
To laugh with
To giggle with

The joy to visit
over lunch, over tea

discuss life’s problems.
The freedom, the closeness
