If You Live with the Trees
If you Live with the Trees
If you live with the trees
then you live with the leaves
it’s a law Mother Nature decreed.
You sweep them, rake them
and burn the great piles
there’s always an abundant supply.
They sneak in your house
crumbled and dried
leaving hundreds of pieces to hide.
Those little brown guests
with no manners at all
are long overdue in their stay.
We love the tall trees
the shade from their leaves
their beauty in shape and size.
We watch them turn green
flower in Spring
turn naked in Winter and Fall.
So we live with the trees
God’s gift to the world
and pick up their pretty, stray leaves.
