May There Always be Unicorns

A Poets Corner Posted on September 17, 2016 by Patricia WalterSeptember 17, 2016

May There Always be Unicorns May there always be unicorns in your heart and dreams although there are those who don't believe it seems. A rainbow, good luck the tooth fairy and Easter Bunny they all make us smile act a little funny. Santa, hobbits angels and fairies can't seem to touch them but our faith never varies. Keep dreams in your heart let unicorns run free all the joys of the world will be yours to see. Poetry & Art by Patricia Walter 2000 ©

May There Always be Unicorns

May there always be unicorns
in your heart and dreams
although there are those
who don’t believe it seems.
A rainbow, good luck
the tooth fairy
and Easter Bunny
they all make us smile
act a little funny.
Santa, hobbits
angels and fairies
can’t seem to touch them
but our faith never varies.
Keep dreams in your heart
let unicorns run free
all the joys of the world
will be yours to see.

Jello

A Poets Corner Posted on September 17, 2016 by Patricia WalterMarch 20, 2019

Jello I like jello, red or yellow Put it in the sun, it could be a puddle. It laughs and wiggles, dances and jiggles better be careful it brings on giggles. It tries to escape with every move it makes eat it with a spoon or anything it takes. It glistens and ripples like flowing rivers dancing about it really quivers. The Band

A Poets Corner Posted on September 16, 2016 by Patricia WalterSeptember 16, 2016

The Band Some play trumpet, some play saxophone, there are those in back, that stand alone. There are wooden clarinets and shiny flutes, oboes and bassons, with some different toots. Those in the back, roll on the snares, sometimes they're loud and get lots of stares. There are brass trombones with big long slides, they ump and pa, with long slow glides. They're heavy and curved, those great big basses, never in a hurry, couldn't go to the races. Last, but not least, someone leads the band, starts and stops with only a hand. An unusual colleciton of instruments and drums, makes wonderful music that everyone hums. Poetry & Art by Patricia Walter 2000

Just A Case Of Love And Hate

Just A Case Of Love And Hate 1

Just A Case Of Love And Hate

It’s just a case of love and hate
sometimes my computer is second rate.
You write a letter, now you feel better.
Read to send to a real good friend
a little click will do the trick.
Thought you would save
the computer didn’t behave.
the letter is lost, there is no cost.
It’s somewhere in space,
not a word, not a trace.
Where did it go, my letter to Jo?
It’s just a case of love and hate
my computer often makes me very irate.

A Glass of Water

A Poets Corner Posted on September 16, 2016 by Patricia WalterSeptember 16, 2016

A Glass of Water A great big glass of ice cold water nothing else will do, please don't bother. It wets your whistle, quenches your thirst nothing like water, it always comes first. There's milk and pop, coffee and tea but only water will do for me. Lots of ice in a big tall glass that's all I need, that's all I ask. Others taste good, so nice and sweet but when I thirst, water can't be beat. Poetry & Art by Patricia Walter 2000 ©

Dirty Clothes

A Poets Corner Posted on September 16, 2016 by Patricia WalterMarch 20, 2019

Dirty Clothes The clothes basket's full again you wonder if you'll ever win. You wash and dry, fold and stack before you know it, the clothes are back. Were do they go to get such dirt those jeans and socks, the old plaid shirt? The grime and grease, grass stains galore you wash and dry, but there's always more. There's magic in those dirty clothes keep filling the basket - don't smell llike a rose! Poetry & Art by Patricia Walter 2000

Dirty Dishes

A Poets Corner Posted on September 16, 2016 by Patricia WalterMarch 20, 2019

Dirty Dishes Did you ever notice how dirty dishes are often as plentiful as a wealthy man's riches. Where do they come from, who was invited to dinner? They're piled up like trophies to be given to the winner. We wash them and scrub them, it never seems to end put them away - they're back again! Such resilience and stayng power, they never give up they persist to be our friends, down to the last cup. So we might as well welcome the dirty dishes again the happy times shared and the friends we've had in. Poetry & Art by Patricia Walter 2000 ©

Dust Bunnies

A Poets Corner Posted on September 15, 2016 by Patricia WalterSeptember 16, 2016

Dust Bunnies Who are those dust bunnies that always stop by every time I turn around they seem to multiply. What creatures of endurance persistence is their name hiding under beds their real claim to fame. You chase them, you grab them you shoo them outside, you turn around and they've not complied. How do they do that those innocent creatures that invade every home, become the main features. Let them live quiely under your bed, maybe the'll go away if they're not fed. Just Went To The Store

A Poets Corner Posted on September 15, 2016 by Patricia WalterSeptember 16, 2016

Just Went to the Store Just went to the store to buy some more. But it got a little tricky as I got picky. I browsed and looked through those aisles on foot. Pushing my cart but not feeling real smart. The soups were piled up but not right for my cup. The potatoes had eyes so they weren't good buys. I came to the meat thought, what should I eat? The hot dogs looked green so I knew there were mean. The chops were packed all squished in a rack. The steaks looked bold but a few days too old. So I left the store even though I wanted more. It's peanut butter and jelly always good for the belly. Poetry & Art Patricia Walter 2000 ©
