Vacations Are Fun

My ears are up
there’s a smile on my face
I’m so happy
to be back in my place.
I’ve eaten my dinner
played with the boys
even had fun
with the old chew toys.
Vacations are fun
but home is best
finally I’ll have
a little quiet and rest.

I feel a kinship
with most dogs I meet
they look in your eye
and want to greet.
Wag their tail
wiggle their butt
doesn’t matter
purebred or mutt.
Dogs share out lives
a wonderful gift
put on earth
to give man a lift.

Care For A Friend

Help care for a friend
find a home, help him mend.
Has a heart of gold
has to move – he’s told.
Find a place, a nice new home
where people care – he can roam.
His eyes are lonely, can’t you see
just wants love, somewhere to be.
Holds no grudges, has a happy heart
looking for a family, a brand new start.
Care for your friend, any way you can
a helping hand, a ride in a van.
Just a warm wish, tossed his way
may be all he needs to make his day.… Read the rest
